A small guide
to a big island.

Pondok means “little house”.

We started as three friends booking trips for other friends — the ones who always asked “but is it actually nice?” So we stopped guessing. Now we visit every resort we list: tasting breakfast, testing the Wi-Fi, and watching the sunset from the pool, so you only see places worth the flight.

Bali has thousands of places to sleep. We keep just eight on the site — the ones we'd send our own family to.

How a resort gets listed

01

We go ourselves

No brochure copy. Every resort on Pondok is a place one of us has checked into, eaten at and swum in.

02

We stay a night, minimum

A pool photographs well at noon. We want to know what the room sounds like at 6 am and whether the Wi-Fi survives rain.

03

We tell you the one thing

Every listing carries a single honest line about what could be better — the steep steps, the road noise, the roosters.
